In July of  2018, we will be launching a series of programs aimed to assist our participants the opportunity to attain the necessary skills to put them on the path to long term employment. At Loving Hands Partners In Care, we believe that work provides hope for a better tomorrow. Our participants will build the confidence they need to become a fully functioning citizen both in the community and at the workplace .

Our staff will walk along side with our participants to ensure success and support as our members transition to reach their potential! But it doesn’t stop there! Our staff will ensure consistent check in support opportunities even after support is no longer required stay tuned for launch dates !

Beginning Monday, November 1st, we will be facilitating a 8 week crafting class ,building  Christmas baskets!
Our participants will create a hand made craft, weekly, for a special gift basket filled with their hard work , for a loved one for Christmas Morning!
Such items like a knitted dish cloth ( and scrubber), hand made Christmas ornament,Christmas painting, hand made Christmas wrapping paper, home made candy, and many more surprises will be included!

Life Skills:

Goal setting – Assisting clients in forming goal plans & coping skills to follow through.
Problem Solving – Identifying problems & learning problem solving techniques that can be used in their daily lives.
Habits and Routine – This lesson empowers participants to enhance and maintain positive change in their behaviors. The facilitators explain the benefits of change in their own lives by using self-example.
Hygiene – Identifying what personal hygiene is and why it is important both socially and medically, and how this is necessary to successful employment possibilities
Self-Esteem – Development of positive self-esteem and the importance of it.
Managing Stress – Stress management techniques to achieve stress reduction in the workplace and social environment.
Values – Uncover their values with the aim of helping participants make wise career choices.
Conflict Resolution – This workshop is designed to give group members the tools to recognize and effectively deal with internal and external sources of conflict.
Boundaries – Recognize the importance of maintaining healthy boundaries at the workplace and at home.
Anger Management – This workshop is designed to help the participants develop skills to deal with anger.

Pre Employment Preparation:

Resume & cover Letters – The participants will first discuss the importance of the resume and what it should contain. In the second part, there will be a discussion of the importance of cover letters and when to use them.
Identifying interests, skills and potential employment opportunities in our community: – Through discussion, brainstorming and internet search, how can we marry the clients’ interests, skills, experience and desire to find
Transferable Skills – Through structured exercises participants identify their transferable skill sets. Participants focus on area of strength and competence.
Interview Skills – Participants will role-play answering sample behavioral interview questions from different sources and work through questionnaires regarding interviewing techniques.
Mock Interviews – Participants will have the opportunity to be interviewed by one of our staff members.

Job Search which will help our clients reach economic independence:

Job Search Techniques – This lesson explores the various ways to access job searching techniques as well as exploring the effective ways to find out about labor market networking to gain information on types of positions available.
Job Retention – Participants will discuss the ways of retaining employment. With focus on incorporating the life skills, computer training, self- discovery, ore-employment preparation, job search, and how they relate to our participants in recovery.
Identifying Natural Supports In The Workplace- Who are these natural supports? How does one identify these supports?
How to Engage with our Supervisors, our Coworkers, The Consumer – This lesson will help us identify roles and responsibilities, as well as the expectation for interaction between the roles.

w Well, we are excited to announce that we are in the last leg of preparation of a  valued service in our amazing city.
As we are  discovering, we are evolving daily, sometimes hourly! When we think we have it under wraps, it comes unwrapped and we figure out better systems and processes.
We would like to thank our community members and surrounding community members for all the kind words and support through this journey. We honestly could never had done it without you! For me, being a part of the Airdrie Women In Business Family has been an amazing asset and resource!
Much appreciation as well, goes to the Lutheran Church of the Master for providing us an affordable space to allow us to get this service up and running quickly and effectively. They believed in us from the onset of this journey, as did many supporters.
We believe we have a pretty comprehensive program and activity calendar  but as we are evolving,so too, will our variety of activities.
On Monday morning, we will officially open our doors. Please, even if this service is not something you might require, pop in and say hello. Ask questions or just give some feedback.
The success of this program will not be possible with out our community members , feedback, suggestions or ideas.
On February 2nd, we will host an open house for our community and surrounding community neighbors.
We are excited to have some amazing sponsors who have donated door prize items . We will have some snacks and beverages and even some very anticipated tasty treats made by our amazing community specialty store The Avenue Cakery & Bake shoppe ( this is what I’m most excited to eat!!)
We are excited to have singer Kelly Kalden perform for this event, and even more excited that she will hopefully be a regular entertainer for our participants!
